Car Drift Racer 2024

Car Drift Racer 2024 is a free 3D drift game you play in your browser. Your car is a wide-arched drift coupe, the track is a container port on the shore of the Bosphorus at sunset, and the goal is simple: slide through the corners at a big angle and keep the drift going as long as you can. Cranes, a container ship, ferries and the old city skyline across the water are all around you. No download, no sign-up.

How to play

1. Pick a mode and a color for your car, then press Play. After the start lights turn green, hold the up arrow (or W) to accelerate.
2. Turn sharply into a corner at speed, or tap Space for the handbrake, and the rear of the car steps out: you are drifting.
3. While you slide, the arrow keys set the angle: steer into the corner for a bigger angle and a tighter line, let go to hold a medium slide, steer the other way to straighten up.
4. Drive straight for a moment to bank the points of your drift chain. Hitting a barrier or leaving the track loses the chain.

Controls

• Computer: up arrow or W to accelerate, left and right arrows or A and D to steer, Space for the handbrake, down arrow or S to brake and reverse. R puts the car back on the track, C changes the camera, P or Esc pauses, M mutes the sound.
• Phone and tablet: the car accelerates by itself; use the left and right buttons to steer and the handbrake and brake buttons on the right.
• Gamepad: left stick to steer, right trigger to accelerate, left trigger to brake, A for the handbrake.

Drift chain and scoring

Every second you slide earns points: the bigger the angle and the higher the speed, the more you get. A drift that keeps going builds a multiplier:

Five corners have yellow clipping zones painted at the edge of the track. Slide through one with the tail (or the nose, on the inside zones) close to the line and you get a bonus plus one step of multiplier at once. Flicking the car from one direction to the other without stopping the drift is a transition and also adds points.

Three modes

• Drift Trial: two laps, the highest score wins. 12,000 points earn one star, 30,000 two stars and 55,000 three stars.
• Time Attack: two laps against the clock. Under 1:58 earns one star, under 1:44 two stars and under 1:36 three stars.
• Free Ride: no clock and no laps to count. Learn the corners and build your longest chain.

Your best run is saved as a ghost car, so next time you race against your own line.

The track: Bosphorus Docks

The circuit is 976 meters long: a 170-meter start straight along the quay, a long left sweeper, a quick right-left S bend, a left and a right hairpin back to back, a fast chicane and a 180-degree final bend onto the straight. Tyre walls line the outside of the corners and concrete barriers the straights.

Tips

• Brake before the corner, not in it. A slide turns the car, but at full speed even a big angle cannot make a tight bend.
• A bigger angle also slows you down, so open the angle in the slow corners and keep it small in the fast ones.
• Do not straighten up between the two hairpins: flick straight from one into the other for a transition bonus and a longer chain.
• The yellow zones are worth aiming for: the extra multiplier step counts for the whole rest of the chain.
