About Street Fighter Alpha 3

Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the last and biggest of the Alpha games, set between the first Street Fighter and Street Fighter II. It has one of the largest rosters of its time and three fighting styles: X-ism plays like Super Street Fighter II Turbo, A-ism gives you several super moves and the custom combo, and V-ism is all about custom combos. It is Capcom’s 1998 arcade game, and it plays right here in your browser with no download.

Where it all started: play the original Street Fighter II.

How to play

  1. Press Play under the title picture and wait a moment while the arcade machine starts.
  2. Press Coin (V on a keyboard) twice: this machine takes two coins per game. Then press Start (Enter).
  3. Pick a fighter, then choose X-ism, A-ism or V-ism.
  4. Punch with A, S and D (light, medium, heavy) and kick with Z, X and C.
  5. Special moves are the classic motions: quarter circle forward and punch for a fireball, forward, down, down-forward and punch for an uppercut.

Controls

Computer: arrow keys move, A S D light, medium and heavy punch, Z X C light, medium and heavy kick, V adds a coin and Enter is Start. Move the mouse over the game to show the bar with pause, restart, sound, save state, load state and full screen buttons.

Phone and tablet: the arcade pad appears under the game: the stick, punches LP MP HP on top and kicks LK MK HK below, Coin and Start.

A USB or Bluetooth gamepad also works.

Cheats

Press the magic wand button next to the full screen button above the game. A small panel opens over the game, and the game waits until you close it. The cheats switch on a few seconds after the machine has started.

  • Unlimited energy: your energy bar stays full.
  • Super moves always ready: your super combo gauge stays full.
  • Infinite time: the round clock never runs out.

Reloading the page turns the cheats off again.
