## In short

Seat Jam is a free seating puzzle. Passengers stand in the aisle of a bus and each wants a seat of their own colour. Nobody can pass anybody else and window seats lock once the seat beside them is taken, so the order is everything. 40 buses, unlimited undo and hints. No download.

**How to control it:** Tap a passenger, then tap a free seat of the same colour. Seat everybody to finish the bus. Keyboard: up and down arrows choose a passenger, left and right choose a seat, Enter confirms, Z undoes, R restarts, H shows a hint, L opens the level list, M mutes.

**Seat Jam** is a free online seating puzzle. Passengers stand in the aisle of a bus and every one of them wants a seat of their own colour. The aisle is one person wide, so nobody can squeeze past anybody else, and a window seat can only be reached while the seat next to it is still empty. Decide who sits first, clear the aisle and send the bus on its way. 40 buses go from a short city bus with three passengers to long coaches that pick up a second group at the next stop.

## How to play

1. Tap a passenger standing in the aisle.
2. Tap a free seat of the same colour. The passenger walks there and sits down.
3. A passenger can only walk along the aisle until they meet another standing passenger.
4. A window seat can only be reached past an empty aisle-side seat.
5. Seat everybody to finish the bus.

## What you will meet

- **Grey passengers** are already seated and never move. They block the window seat behind them.
- **Missing seats** leave a gap you can step through to reach the window.
- **Second stop:** on later buses a new group gets on as soon as the aisle is empty. The seats you gave away at the first stop are gone, so think ahead.
- **Dead ends:** if nobody can reach a seat any more, undo a move or two and try another order.

## Game features

## Controls

**Phone and tablet:** tap a passenger, then tap a seat. The buttons at the bottom are undo, restart and hint.

**Computer:** click a passenger and a seat, or use the keyboard: up and down arrows choose a passenger, left and right arrows choose a seat, Enter confirms. Z undoes, R restarts, H shows a hint, L opens the level list and M mutes the sound.

## Tips

- Fill window seats before the aisle seats next to them. An aisle seat taken too early locks the window for good.
- A passenger boxed in between two others has the fewest choices. Seat them first, or free them by seating a neighbour.
- If two passengers of the same colour can reach the same seat, give it to the one with no other option.
- On two-stop buses the second group can only use what is left. Do not spend more seats than you need at the first stop.
