## In short

Snow Bros. is the 1991 NES version of Toaplan's arcade hit, released by Capcom in North America and Europe as Snow Brothers. Nick and Tom, two princes turned into snowmen by King Scorch, throw snow at monsters until they become giant snowballs, then roll them down the floors to knock out every enemy in their path. Play it in your browser with keyboard, gamepad or an on-screen pad on phones, and switch on unlimited lives with the cheats button.

**How to control it:** Press Play, then Start (Enter) a few times to go past the story. Keyboard: arrow keys move, Z throws snow, X jumps. Phone: on-screen cross, B, A and Start. The magic wand button next to full screen opens the cheats.

**Snow Bros.** is the NES version of Toaplan's 1990 arcade game, and in North America and Europe it came out as **Snow Brothers** . Nick and Tom were princes until the demon King Scorch turned them into snowmen and took the princesses Teri and Tina. Throw snow at the monsters until they freeze into big snowballs, then push the snowball so it rolls down the floor and knocks out every monster in its way. Capcom released this version in 1991, and it plays right here in your browser with no download.

## How to play

1. Press **Play** under the title picture, then **Start** (Enter) on the title screen. Press Start again to skip the story.
2. Throw snow with **Z** . A few hits cover a monster completely and it becomes a snowball. A half-covered monster can't move until it shakes the snow off.
3. Walk into the snowball, or throw snow at it, to send it rolling. It bounces off the walls and drops down the floors, knocking out every monster it hits.
4. Clear all the monsters on a floor to go up to the next one. Knocking them all out with one snowball drops a bonus.
5. Pick up the potions: red makes you faster, blue throws more snow, yellow throws it further, and green blows you up into a big snowman for a short time.

## Controls

**Computer:** arrow keys move, **Z** throws snow, **X** jumps, Enter is Start and pauses. Move the mouse over the game to show the bar with pause, restart, sound, save state, load state and full screen buttons.

**Phone and tablet:** the NES pad appears under the game: the cross, **B** (throws snow), **A** (jumps) and **Start** .

A USB or Bluetooth gamepad also works.

## Cheats

Press the **magic wand** button next to the full screen button above the game. A small panel opens over the game, and the game waits until you close it.

- **Unlimited lives:** your chances never run out.

Reloading the page turns the cheats off again.

## About Snow Bros.

Toaplan made Snow Bros. for arcades in 1990. The NES version was made by Soft House and published by Capcom in North America and Europe in 1991, and by Toaplan in Japan the same year. It added an opening story that the arcade game does not have: the two princes, King Scorch's curse and the captured twin princesses.
