Tank Battle Arena

Tank Battle Arena is a free online tank game with short missions and simple controls. You drive a tank from above: steer with the left stick or WASD, aim and fire with the right stick or the mouse. Twelve missions give you three jobs: destroy every enemy tank, capture the flags, or hold your base until the timer runs out. Each mission takes a few minutes, earns you parts, and the parts buy armor, a stronger cannon and a faster engine in the garage.

How to play

1. Press Play and pick mission 1. Missions unlock one after another.
2. Drive with the left stick (phone) or WASD / arrow keys (computer). The tank turns toward the way you drive.
3. Aim with the right stick or the mouse. If you do not aim, the turret turns to the nearest enemy by itself.
4. Fire with the right stick, a tap on the right half of the screen, a mouse click or the space bar. The cannon reloads in under a second.
5. Finish the objective shown at the top left. Your health at the end decides the stars: three stars above 70%, two above 35%, one for finishing.

The three objectives

• Destroy: find and knock out every enemy tank and gun turret. The minimap in the corner shows where they are.
• Capture: stand inside each flag circle for four seconds. An enemy near the flag blocks the capture, so clear it first. Every captured flag repairs your tank a little.
• Defend: enemy tanks arrive in waves and shoot at your base. Keep the base alive until the timer ends. Repair kits appear next to the base now and then.

Enemies and the arena

• Light tanks are fast and weak. They sidestep while they shoot.
• Heavy tanks are slow, take many hits and hurt when they land one.
• Gun turrets never move but have the longest range. Break their line of sight.
• Walls stop every shell. Wooden crates break after two hits and open new paths.
• Destroyed enemies sometimes drop a repair kit worth 30 health.

The garage

Stars turn into parts: one part per star, earned once per mission. Spend them on three upgrades, each with three levels: Armor adds health, Cannon adds damage per shell, Engine adds speed. The upgrades apply to every mission from then on, so a mission that felt hard is easier after a visit to the garage.

Controls

Phone and tablet: touch the left half of the screen and drag to drive; touch the right half and drag to aim and fire, or just tap the right half to fire at the nearest enemy.

Computer: WASD or the arrow keys drive, the mouse aims, a click or the space bar fires. P or Esc pauses, R restarts the mission, M mutes.

Tips

• Keep moving. Enemy shells are slow enough to sidestep when you see them coming.
• Peek around corners: a turret cannot hit what it cannot see.
• Fight one tank at a time. Pull a light tank away from a heavy one before you engage.
• In defend missions, meet the enemies before they reach the base; they aim at the base first, so you get free shots.
• Buy armor first if you keep losing, cannon first if fights take too long.
