About Super Pang
Super Pang is a simple idea done perfectly: big bubbles bounce around the screen, and you shoot them with a harpoon that flies straight up. Each hit splits a bubble into two smaller ones, and the smallest ones pop for good. Clear all the bubbles to finish the stage, but don’t let a single one touch you. This is the 1990 arcade game by Mitchell and Capcom, known in North America as Super Buster Bros., and it plays right here in your browser with no download.
How to play
- Press Play under the title picture and wait a moment while the arcade machine starts.
- Press Coin (V on a keyboard) to add a credit, then Start (Enter).
- Choose Tour mode (stages around the world) or Panic mode (endless bubbles) with left or right and press fire.
- Walk left and right and fire the harpoon with Z. It only goes straight up, so stand under a bubble before you shoot.
- Climb ladders with up and down. Pop every bubble before the timer runs out.
Controls
Computer: left and right walk, up and down climb ladders, Z fires, V adds a coin and Enter is Start. Move the mouse over the game to show the bar with pause, restart, sound, save state, load state and full screen buttons.
Phone and tablet: the pad under the game has the cross, a Shoot button, and Coin and Start buttons.
A USB or Bluetooth gamepad also works.
Cheats
Press the magic wand button next to the full screen button above the game. A small panel opens over the game, and the game waits until you close it. The cheats switch on a few seconds after the machine has started.
- Unlimited lives: you never run out of lives.
- Infinite time: the stage timer never runs out.
- Machine gun: a stream of shots instead of the harpoon, which pops bubbles very fast.
Reloading the page turns the cheats off again.
Weapons and items
- Double harpoon: two harpoons on screen at once.
- Power wire: the harpoon sticks to the ceiling for a moment and catches bubbles that fall on it.
- Machine gun: fast shots straight up.
- Clock and hourglass: stop or slow the bubbles for a few seconds.
- Shield: protects you from one hit.
- Dynamite: splits every bubble into the smallest size at once.
Tour and Panic
Tour mode takes you through 40 stages in famous places around the world, often three times in the same place at different times of day. Panic mode is an endless game: bubbles keep pouring down and the levels go up as you pop them. The game itself recommends Panic mode for practice.
