Apex Drift Garage

Apex Drift Garage is an online car drift simulator that runs in your browser. You drive a rear-drive coupe through a night city, pull the handbrake to throw the car sideways and watch a drift counter turn into cash. Three driving modes (Simulator, Drift and Arcade) change how the car feels, and a garage lets you spend the cash on paint, wheels, neon and more. Press Play Now, enter a nickname once and you are on the road.

How to play

1. Enter a nickname (5 to 10 characters). The game asks only once.
2. Press Play Now. You start in the city.
3. Accelerate with W and steer with A and D.
4. Hold Space (the handbrake) while you steer to break the rear tires loose and slide.
5. Watch the Drift counter at the top of the screen. The longer and bigger the slide, the more points it shows, and the points turn into cash.
6. Go back to the menu, open the Garage and spend the cash.

The three driving modes

The buttons at the top of the screen switch the mode while you drive: Simulator, Drift and Arcade. Start in Drift mode to see the points counter and earn cash, then try Simulator and Arcade to find the handling you like.

The garage

The garage has seven tabs: Car color, Window color, Wheel color, Neon color, Smoke color, Caliper color and Suspension. A new paint color costs 500 in-game dollars (you start with 1,000), and the car changes color on screen before you buy. The Neon color and Smoke color tabs let you pick the neon glow and the color of the tire smoke.

Tips

• Build speed on a straight road first, then turn and press the handbrake.
• Release the handbrake and steer the other way when the car swings too far, or press R to put it back on the road.
• Switch the camera with C. The view from above shows the whole slide, the view from behind is easiest for steering.
• Save your cash for the garage before you buy small things: a paint color costs 500.
• If the game runs slowly, open Settings and choose a lower graphic level (Low, Medium or High).
