About Aladdin

Aladdin on the Mega Drive looks like the film because it was drawn by the film’s animators. Aladdin runs over the rooftops and through the market of Agrabah with a scimitar and a pocketful of apples, escapes the Cave of Wonders on the magic carpet, and ends in Jafar’s palace. It is the 1993 Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) game by Virgin Games, and it plays right here in your browser with no download.

Like Mega Drive classics? Play Sonic the Hedgehog 2 too.

How to play

  1. Press Play under the title picture, then Start (Enter) twice.
  2. Run with the arrow keys and jump with C. Slash with the scimitar with X and throw apples with Z.
  3. Collect apples for ammunition and red gems to spend at the peddler’s stall. A Genie face gives a bonus game, Abu’s face a bonus level.
  4. Touch the blue vases to save a restart point. Your health is the smoke of the lamp at the top left.

Controls

Computer: arrow keys run and climb, Z throws an apple, X slashes, C jumps, Enter is Start and pauses. Move the mouse over the game to show the bar with pause, restart, sound, save state, load state and full screen buttons.

Phone and tablet: the Mega Drive pad appears under the game: the cross, A (apple), B (sword), C (jump) and Start.

A USB or Bluetooth gamepad also works.

Cheats

Press the magic wand button next to the full screen button above the game. A small panel opens over the game, and the game waits until you close it.

  • Unlimited lives: you never run out of lives.
  • Unlimited energy: the lamp’s smoke never fades.
  • Unlimited apples: always 99 apples to throw.

Reloading the page turns the cheats off again.

About Aladdin
