About Double Dragon II: The Revenge

Double Dragon II: The Revenge is the NES game that many players remember better than the arcade original. The Shadow Warriors have struck, and the Lee brothers want revenge. The missions take you from the city streets into a helicopter and on to the Shadow Warriors’ fortress, with new moves like the spinning cyclone kick. It is the 1990 NES game by Technos, and it plays right here in your browser with no download.

Where it began: play the arcade Double Dragon.

How to play

  1. Press Play under the title picture, then Start (Enter) and choose a mode.
  2. This game attacks by direction: Z hits to the left and X hits to the right, wherever you are facing.
  3. Press Z and X together to jump. Press the attack button in the air for a jump kick.
  4. Hit an enemy a few times until they bend over, then attack again for a knee or a throw.
  5. Pick up the weapons that enemies drop.

Controls

Computer: arrow keys move, Z attacks to the left, X attacks to the right (both together jump), Enter is Start and pauses. Move the mouse over the game to show the bar with pause, restart, sound, save state, load state and full screen buttons.

Phone and tablet: the NES pad appears under the game: the cross, B (attacks to the left), A (attacks to the right) and Start.

A USB or Bluetooth gamepad also works.

Cheats

Press the magic wand button next to the full screen button above the game. A small panel opens over the game, and the game waits until you close it.

  • Unlimited lives: you never run out of lives.
  • Unlimited energy: your energy bar stays full.

Reloading the page turns the cheats off again.

About Double Dragon II

Double Dragon II: The Revenge came to arcades in 1988. The NES version, made by Technos Japan and published in North America by Acclaim in 1990, is a different game built for the console, with its own missions, story scenes and three difficulty settings. Unlike the first NES game, two players can play it together.
