Heavy Excavator Simulator

Heavy Excavator Simulator is a free online digging game. You run a yellow excavator on a building site: grab the bucket, push it into the dirt, swing the loaded bucket over the truck and let it pour. The arm bends like a real boom and stick, the ground really gets lower where you dig and the truck really fills up. 20 short jobs take you from a first easy load to deep trenches, buried rocks and sites where you have to drive the machine up to the work.

How to play

1. Drag the bucket with your finger or the mouse. The arm follows.
2. Push the bucket into the dirt to fill it. A full bucket cannot take more.
3. Lift it, move it over the truck bed and hold it there: the load pours out by itself.
4. Finish the job shown at the top: load the truck, clear the pile, or dig the trench down to the dashed line.

The jobs

• Load the truck: move the amount of dirt shown on the progress bar. A full truck drives off and an empty one pulls in.
• Clear the pile: take everything above ground level out of the marked area.
• Dig the trench: dig the marked area down to the dashed line.
• Rocks (grey) cannot be dug. Work around them; the bucket has to fit beside the rock.
• Driving jobs: use the arrow buttons (or A and D) to roll the excavator closer. It will not drive into a pile.

Controls

Phone and tablet: drag the bucket. On driving jobs, hold the arrow buttons at the bottom left.

Computer: drag with the mouse, or use the arrow keys to move the bucket, A and D to drive, space to drop the load on the ground, R to restart, L for the job list, M to mute.

Tips

• Come at the pile from above and bite about half a bucket deep; a full bucket in one bite is the fastest rhythm.
• Lift the bucket clear before you swing to the truck. A full bucket cannot pass through dirt.
• For three stars, start with the dirt nearest the truck: shorter swings save seconds.
• If a load is in the way, press space (or restart) to put it down and start again.
