Sweet Cake Shop

Sweet Cake Shop is a free cake decorating game you play in your browser. Pick a round, square or heart cake in one, two or three tiers, spread the frosting by dragging over each tier, pour a chocolate or caramel drip down the sides, scatter sprinkles, pipe a border of pearls or cream shells and top it all with strawberries, cherries, candles, macarons and sugar flowers. Put your cake on a plate or a cake stand and save it as a picture. When you want a goal, open the order book: twelve short orders show you exactly which cake each customer wants, and you earn up to three stars for a perfect match.

How to play

1. Open Cake to choose the shape (round, square or heart), the number of tiers and the sponge: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, red velvet or matcha.
2. Pick a colour on the Frosting tab and drag over a tier to spread it. A few strokes cover the whole tier; until then you can see the sponge and cream layers underneath. Tap Cover to frost the selected tier at once, or turn on All tiers to frost every tier.
3. Open Drip for a dark chocolate, white chocolate, caramel, strawberry, blueberry, mint or gold drip on the selected tier.
4. Open Toppings and tap the cake to place strawberries, cherries, candles, macarons, chocolate, cream rosettes, sugar flowers, blueberries, candy hearts or a gold star, up to eight on each tier.
5. Open Sprinkles for rainbow or chocolate sprinkles, sugar pearls, hearts or stars, and a border of pearls, gold beads, cream shells or chocolate shells.
6. Use Plate to serve the cake on a white, pink or blue plate, a wooden board, or a gold or glass cake stand, and to change the background.
7. Press Save PNG to keep your cake as a picture.

The order book: 12 cakes to bake

Press Orders to switch from the free kitchen to customer orders. Each order is pinned as a small note in the corner of your cake; tap the note to see it big. Make the same cake and press Done to see how close you got. The first customers want a single frosted cake; later ones ask for strawberries on chocolate, a square cake with rainbow sprinkles, a red heart cake with a white chocolate drip, a two-tier cake with pearl borders, a birthday cake with candles, a three-tier white wedding cake with sugar flowers and finally a chocolate and caramel tower. A new order opens each time you earn at least one star.

The score counts the frosting on each tier most, then the shape and the number of tiers, the drip, the sprinkles, the border and the toppings. A tier only counts as frosted when it is fully covered, so finish your strokes or use Cover. Extra decorations the customer did not ask for cost a little, so read the note carefully.

Controls

Phone and tablet: tap a colour, then drag your finger over the cake to spread the frosting. Tap a tier to select it, and tap the cake to place a topping. Spreading frosting on the cake does not scroll the page.

Computer: click a colour and drag with the mouse over the cake, or use the keyboard: left and right arrows choose a tier, up and down arrows change the tab, C changes the frosting colour, the space bar covers the selected tier, A turns All tiers on or off, R makes a random cake, Z undoes and S saves the picture.

• Classic birthday cake: two round tiers in pink and white, a chocolate drip on top, strawberries and two candles.
• Valentine heart: red heart cake with a white chocolate drip, candy hearts and a pearl border.
• Wedding cake: three white tiers with pearl borders, sugar flowers and a glass cake stand.
• Chocolate lover: chocolate sponge and frosting, chocolate drip, chocolate shells and chocolate squares.
• Rainbow party: a square cake in a bright colour with rainbow sprinkles and a row of candles.
• Naked cake: leave the sponge bare so the cream layers show, add a caramel drip and fresh berries.
