Sniper Game Controls: What 4 Click Tests Show

Heatwave Sniper: scope, fire and watch your health.

Key takeaways

  • The scope is on the right mouse button (hold) and the shot is the left button.
  • In four tests with 8 clicks each, the round counter dropped by 3, 4, 1 and 3, so not every click fires.
  • Standing still at the start, our health stayed at 100 for about 90 seconds.
  • When we walked forward, raised the scope and fired, health fell from 100 to 0 in about a minute.

The main sniper game controls in Heatwave Sniper are the mouse to aim, the right mouse button held for the scope and the left mouse button to fire, and in four tests of 8 clicks each the round counter dropped by only 3, 4, 1 and 3 rounds. We played the game in a test browser and wrote down what the screen showed.

The controls we confirmed

Moving the mouse turns the view. Holding the right mouse button raises the scope: the screen goes dark around a ring, a cross-hair with small dots appears and a tiny H0:V0 readout sits in the middle. Pressing W walks forward, and in our test it took us from the rooftop into a field of tall grass. The left mouse button fires: the counter at the bottom right goes from 10 / 10 to 9 / 10, and so on. Pressing R brought the counter from 8 up to 9.

8 clicks, four tests

We wanted to know whether every click fires. For each test we loaded the game fresh, clicked 8 times without aiming and read the counter. The gap between clicks was different in each test, because our test browser adds a delay of its own to every click.

Rounds fired by 8 clicks
TestAverage time per clickCounter afterRounds fired
11.15 s7 / 103
21.61 s6 / 104
31.96 s9 / 101
42.76 s7 / 103

Four tests from one test browser are a small sample, and the browser runs the game slower than a normal computer, so the times are a guide only.

The pattern is clear even if the numbers are noisy: at most half of the clicks fired and slower clicking did not fire more rounds. The rifle needs a moment between shots, so it is better to wait and aim than to click fast.

Enemies and health

The enemies are small figures far away in the tall grass, and their shots show as pale lines in the air. At the start, standing still on the rooftop, our health stayed at 100 for about 90 seconds and then read 90. In the runs where we walked forward, raised the scope and fired, the health number fell in steps (100, 80, 70, 60, 40) and the Game Over panel with a Try Again button appeared in about a minute. We did not hit an enemy in these runs, so we cannot say how the score is given.

4 tips from the tests

  • Aim first, click once. Fast clicking fired at most 4 of 8 shots.
  • Keep the scope up while you look. The enemies are small and far, and the scope is the only way to see them clearly.
  • Watch the health number. It can fall quickly once you start moving and firing.
  • Load a round with R when the counter is low. It added one round in our test.

Where to try it

Try it yourself in Heatwave Sniper. For another first-person shooting game, Rustwalker puts you in a mech cockpit, and Downtown Cruiser is a 3D driving game.

Frequently asked questions

How do you use the scope in Heatwave Sniper?

Hold the right mouse button. A black ring with a cross-hair and a small H0:V0 readout appears.

How many rounds does the rifle hold?

The counter starts at 10 / 10. Each shot that fires takes one round off it, and pressing R brought the counter from 8 up to 9 in our test.

Why does clicking fast not fire every shot?

The rifle needs a moment between shots. In four tests with 8 clicks each, the counter dropped by 3, 4, 1 and 3 rounds.

How fast does enemy fire take your health?

In our runs where we walked forward, raised the scope and fired, health fell from 100 to 0 in about a minute. Standing still at the start, it stayed at 100 for about 90 seconds.

What happens at 0 health?

A Game Over panel appears with a Try Again button.

Can I play it on a phone?

No. It has no touch controls, so it needs a computer with a keyboard and a mouse.
