Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is the fullest version of Mortal Kombat 3, with the biggest cast of the series at the time. Shao Kahn has invaded Earth, and the last warriors must defeat him. Pick a fighter, choose a tower of opponents and climb it, using punches, kicks, special moves and the famous finishing moves. This is the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) version from 1996, and it plays right here in your browser with no download.

How to play

1. Press Play under the title picture, then Start (Enter) twice to reach the menu with START GAME and OPTIONS.
2. Choose MORTAL KOMBAT for a one player game.
3. Pick your fighter with the arrow keys and press low punch (Z), then choose a tower of opponents the same way.
4. Win two rounds against each opponent to climb the tower.
5. When the screen says FINISH HIM or FINISH HER, you have a moment to perform a finishing move.

Controls

The game uses the six-button Mega Drive pad, laid out the way the cartridge expects it (you can check it in OPTIONS, JOY STICK).

Computer: arrow keys move, jump and crouch. Top row: A high punch, S run, D high kick. Bottom row: Z low punch, X block, C low kick. Enter is Start and pauses. Move the mouse over the game to show the bar with pause, restart, sound, save state, load state and full screen buttons.

Phone and tablet: the pad under the game has HP, Run and HK on the top row, LP, BL (block) and LK below, and Start.

A USB or Bluetooth gamepad also works.

Cheats

Press the magic wand button next to the full screen button above the game. A small panel opens over the game, and the game waits until you close it.

• Unlimited energy: your energy bar stays full.
• Weak opponent: the opponent has almost no energy, so one clean hit wins the round.
• Infinite time: the round clock never runs out.

Reloading the page turns the cheats off again.

Basic moves for everyone

• Uppercut: hold down and press high punch.
• Sweep: hold back and press low kick.
• Roundhouse: hold back and press high kick.
• Throw: close to the opponent, press low punch.
• Run: hold forward and the run button. Running drains the small run bar under your energy.

Each fighter also has special moves, such as Scorpion’s spear (back, back, low punch) and Sub-Zero’s ice ball (down, forward, low punch).

About Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

Midway released Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 in arcades in November 1995 as an update of Mortal Kombat 3. The Mega Drive version was made by Avalanche Software and published by Williams Entertainment in North America in October 1996. It makes Rain and Noob Saibot playable.
